Gallistal insists on ther being a von newman type structure in how ty brain does computation. And that what we need to be finding, therefore, is some kind of shannon information. But when we're talking about biology, we have to be open to other kinds of information storage. We already know a great deal about genetic information which existed for billions of years before we did. It's not incoded in any kind ofShannon form and isn't computed in any sort of von newman architecture. Semantic information needs to be written into the shannon information methodff information transmission.
