How Are the Kids Doing 30 Years Later?

Those kids who are from Italian, Irish Portuguese households are reaching higher levels of income than those children whose parents are from Scotland. I don't have a single overarching explanation that would account for that cross-country heterogeneity. So we don't necessarily have a good intuition for which country of origin groups are going to have the greatest success in the U.S. It's not always the ones that you think.
