I think that the hardest thing about doing a talk show like this is the repetition. I would say the most competitive period of my life was those years at SNL. And then once I kind of found that home of head writer and weekend update, I became less competitive. Because you realize if you can get to the same destination from being inspired by the people around you as opposed to being competitive with them, they will enjoy your company more.
