The Origins of Black Hole Exploration

There's many different ways that we discovered black holes. I'll specifically focus on the discovery of some of the biggest black holes, which are called these supermassive black holes. These were first discovered from sort of the 1970s onwards. So it's never really about seeing them directly. It's about being able to infer them from movements of things we can see.
