We are socialized not to talk about race from very early, we are taught to be colorblind. It's uncomfortable to talk about a lot of different things, xenophobia, homophobia, sizes,. That totally gets pushed to the side, right? Transphobia, all of these things that we don't necessarily talk about are critical to be able to learn to do that. And so there is this frame of understanding that clinicians need to have in order to understand how these children have been socialized around race and discrimination at home.
