Is the Religion of Labor Really a Top Slog?

Tom Foreman: Can we not admit that a job on an assembly line where you're doing the same task over and over and over all day long, can nevertheless be a top slog? He says Adam Smith's description of the religion of labor sharpens skills. But to brand the division of labor across the board as resulting in that is a little bit ridiculous he says.Foreman: What I'm trying to get at is that the silver lining to the idea of repetitive tasks is that it helps give anybody employment almost regardless of intelligence.
