Faith Improvised

CHAPTER

The Relationship Between Judaism and Christianity

The writer of Hebrews argues in chapter 11 that so many of like those heroes of faith have left, they left places, even though they didn't know where they were going. It's fascinating to read how the writer goes into the whole discourse about how their connection to Christ connects them to God. They can actually afford to leave the city and leave it behind because by virtue of being in Christ, this greater high priest, etc., they have a connection to God that is not going to be shaken loose. There are challenges with grappling with that text as as Christians who are in a very different situation.
