I think both the progressives and the conservatives are under a delusion, just as you say, that we don't need to take measures to distinguish a tyrannous majority from a reasonable one. But we do. And a lot of our politics is about that difference, when you come down to it. Trampi can setly be a demagogue. Now i think that's the case with trump, that he just saw the opportunity to hijack the republican party. But it could have been a democratic party. So attributing to him a set of beliefs is finding permanence in something that's pretty contingent ery. Well, trampes may be a special case. I don't think
