Is There an Expiration Date on Prior Complicated Withdrawal?

Is there an expiration date on prior complicated withdrawal? By that, i mean, so let's say someone has had a period of abstinence for years and years and years. Is there a physiologic reset that happens somewhere along the way? Or is it just no way to really tell? I don't think that we'll beable to find data to answer that question. All i can say is that most of the other kind of late effects of alcohol use disorder, like things like blood pressure, libility, things like insomnia are not going to fix themselves.
