The Discourse on the Parting of the Ways
Judaism is a complicated set of different communities with different orientations and many shared beliefs. Both rabbinic Judaism and Christianity drew inspiration from what I would normally call second temple period texts or this type of literature of Hellenistic Judaism. There are new work that's happening now that helps to integrate these larger cross-cultural conversations. We're talking about in various ways continuity from biblical times all the way through these sorts of texts.
