Morally Significant Actions Are Not Consciously Transparent
The reasons for taking some of the most important actions in my life are not entirely transparent to me while I'm making those decisions. The full reasons for an action might only be available to us consciously after the fact, after we have performed the action that our reasons can now be seen as justifying. In such cases it is reasonable to accept full responsibility for the actions that are justified by these currently opaque reasons.
