Ep. #187: How Many Calories Should You Eat to Gain Muscle Without Getting Fat?
Muscle for Life with Mike Matthews

Do You Know How Many Calories You Are Eating?
You can just eat at maintenance, which again is strange advice because none of us really know what our maintenance calories are to the calorie. You want to take your total daily energy expenditure and then you want to eat about 10 to 15% more calories than that every day. So if I wanted to go into a lean bulking phase, or so if he wanted to bump up his muscle gain with minimal fat gain, then I would increase that number to about 3000 calories per day. That's where I would start.
