How Does Fusion Work?
Fusion is about smashing atoms together to make a bigger one, which then gives us energy. There are different approaches to fusion, but the bottom line is you need to have that fuel and get it to the right conditions. One approach is something called a taucomac, which is like I imagine a metal doughnut encased in magnets. The National Ignition Facility claims they were the first to cross what's called the net energy threshold.
