The Case of Don Davolt
Don's hands tested negative for gunshot residue. But he had washed them, so it wasn't exactly and all clear for the teenager as far as Davolt was concerned. He asked him why he'd been so keen to clean the blood off himself. To which Don explained that it was his sisters, she died in his arms, and he felt disgusted by him. The colonel then headed to the scene of the killings. It doesn't look good. Somebody there did this. No, it's very much one of those closed room mysteries.
