How to Value Chase Ultimate Rewards Points at 2.1 Cents Per Point
Greg, I was wondering about in the earnings rate category, you value chase ultimate rewards points at one and a half cents per point while you value high at points at 2.1 cents per point. Greg: Since you can literally transfer one to one from chase to Hyatt, it's very reasonable to assume that you'll get 2.1 percent or better. But our reasonable redemption value for chase points is, I don't know off the top of my head, about 1.5 cent per point. So it's actually lower than the rate for Hyatt points. What gives, Greg? It makes no sense at all, does it?
