I Love You, Dear, but You're Just So Wrong About This Thing

People avoid talking to close others about things that they're morally convicted about and that they already know they disagree. One of our studies, four people were bought into a room and were actually asked to talk about procedures to resolve something that we're moral convicted about. It was very clear from the videotapes and our coding of the videotapes just how tense people were in that morally convicted heterogeneous group condition. They were walking on eggshells.
