I think one of the most chilling things you'd ever meet in your life is someone who has no ability to feel. Sometimes it's an emptiness, thanks to God I've only measured a couple of times. And when the feeling is deadened and subtracted, absolutely anything can happen. In some strange kind of way compassion is allowing the secret bridges between us to become real. We're not alone really but that we're dangerously involved with each other in an incredibly intimate, unseen way.
