The Terminator Scenario

I think it's important not to lose sight of long-term dangers, just because we are not certain about it. Even if it was a low probability of something very dangerous happening, we might want to do something about it. I think AI is already being used to generate AI in the sense that people are optimizing methods of developing AI. People are working on AI tools for improving programming, which gets applied to AI. Right now, this is, of course, being done by having human programmers adding judgment and cleverness. But I think we should see more and more automation of this happening. Does that lead to a singularity? Nobody really knows.
