Salah in Proscription

The future rebel Cattleine, who eventually went on to become one of Cicero's great nemeses, is said to have murdered his own brother during the Civil War. Salah was forcing people to dissolve even all marriage ties with the figureheads of the regime of Senna. He would just give away estates to many of his low-class, theater-drinking buddies and sometimes on a whim. And so after a number of weeks of the murderous reign of terror we just described, as the blood was finally washed off the paved stones of Rome, Salah, as proconsul, sends a letter to the head of the senate from his residence outside the walls.
