The Importance of a Good Prologue

I love the way this film starts off with this basically 15 minute prologue where you essentially are dropped into just this day in the life of Joel and Clementine. Just this kind of simple, charming, weird, awkward, meat cute that ends kind of happily with them going out in the ice on Valentine's Day. And then it goes to the opening titles and then we're in this like Kaufman more Bingjong Malkovich world for a little while Where is Joel being followed by this fan? What's this pill he's taking? You know, you go into more of a traditional Kaufman like screwing with your brain stuff. It's just such a brilliant opening.
