John O'Keefe is a professor of cognitive neuroscience at University College, London. In 2014 he shared the Cavley Prize in Neuroscience with Brenda Milner and Marcus Rakel. John says they believe these spatial problems are the first indication that someone has Alzheimer's. And those symptoms start decades before it's clear they've developed the disease.
