The Evolution of the Brain

An algorithm is essentially randomly making changes like mutations in genes. They randomly happen and then those that lead to some advantage improve the fitness of the organism, they get selected and the others slowly die off. So evolution doesn't work that way. It's not normative. We don't get better by instruction,. Like the back probe algorithm, which essentially finds out how much away you are from your optimum target... That's another kind of optimization that I don't think personally is what the brain is doing or has been doing for previous eons.
