How do we help people set their expectations when contributing to open source? There are lots of factors here, it's about what that person wants to specialize or develop skills in terms of programming languages. It also depends on where the project is in the maturity lifecycle. Maybe there are programs, for example, the CNCF has all sorts of mentorship programs.
