The Story of the Pentecost
There is evidence of this kind of thing happening in the bible to jesus disciples. All of them were filled with the holy spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the spirit enabled them. Their behaviour was so odd that other onlookers thought it was even drunken kinds of behavior, because, a, they just were so overpowered by whatever was taking place. This is part of the back story for the of pentecost, a jewish holiday and the namesake for the future pentecostal movement.
