The genetic code is an example of abstract symbolic information. The letters T, C, A, and G stand for the four nucleotides in DNA. Since they're grouped in groups of three, there are 64 possibilities as to what each letter means. And most of them code for specific amino acids,. which are the other three letters, in bold.
