Lloyd Price was a teenager in 1952 when he wandered into Cosimo Matassa's studio. His song Lordy Miss Clordy went to number one on the R&B charts. He had several more hits, but then got drafted and didn't have another hit for years. Elvis Presley and Little Richard cut cover versions of his song; that brought him some attention.
