The Risks of Obesity and Diabetes Later in Life
The Healthy Start Study was an observational pre-birth cohort conducted through the life course epidemiology of Adipacity and Diabetes Center. This study recruited pregnant individuals from about the early second trimester and followed throughout pregnancy and has followed the offspring as well. So obesity is extremely complex and a lot of it is determined by genetics. But we do know that there are modifiable risks that we as pediatricians can potentially intervene on and counsel our families about.
