Is Apple Going to Add a Smart Connector to the iPad?

There is a rumor that Apple is potentially looking at adding the functionality like the new the pixel tablet where you can like mount it up to a little stand. And if then it would make sense that the iPad would have a magnet in the back, right? Right. So I think having it be MagSafe would be great, although it's pretty thin. However, there's the keyboard issue, right? Are they going to add a thing on the side and still have the smart connector on the back? Is that a thing they're going to do?
