Jay Parini: I think that censorship in So In City is in part one of the things that Jacob was alluding to there, that there are multiple ways to manipulate information. Of course, censorship at scale is also fundamentally incompatible with democracy and surveillance feeds into how censorship is conducted in many ways. And you have this other order of censorship where people knowing they're being surveilled actually engage in self-censorship. It really is one big feedback loop, again, powered by data at the core of all of it.
