How to Write a Conversation in a Book
When you are having a conversation with someone in real life, so much of it is also happening with non verbal and with tone. And when you put that stuff down on the page, people just sound incoherent. I tried that once in a a in a scene in a book. Ah, it was as accurate a reproduction of human dialogue as i could produce...and it was abysmal to try to read.
