Agathon's Speech Moves the Discussion Forward

Agathon says that the other speakers have praised the benefits that Eros brings for example it creates heroic deeds on the battlefield in feudalist speech as Arangi's discussed and Eros acts as a healer in Aristophanes' speech. The main purpose of his speech is to clarify the nature that's responsible for those sorts of beneficial effects, which he does by saying you can't give to another what you don't have yourself. Agathon lists just about all the virtues that you could imagine and says lovers are graceful and beautiful and wise and just and honorable.
