How to Create a New Handwashing Habit
In rural India, children were not washing their hands in the way that was going to lead to a high-genic behaviour. Research suggested they still used chalk and black slate boards to write with. They often got chalk all over their hands and it was smeared all over their fingers and palms. Adding soap and infusing it into the chalk meant once washed them, the chalk itself became soap. This is known as behavioural one linked like we spoke about previously, or habit stacking. By clustering the behaviour with habits we already possess, we stand more chance of accomplishing a new task.
