Samuel's Theology - Grace Is Not Earned

In the book of wormon, in several places, jacob and alma, talks about physical death and spiritual death. For samuel, first death does not seem to be just physical death. He attributes it to this spiritual death. There they loose themselves from the pains of hell s. And then he says that thereby ye may receive a remission of them through his merits. So for him, first death is temporal deatha second death. It's not just that physical death is overcome unconditionally. But spiritual death is over come unconditionally for all men and women. Everybody gets back into the presence of god.
