I feel the universality of it as something which everybody can identify with. Those clay works are almost like a kind of Hansel and Gretel. I think her use of found materials, very poor materials like thread or just cheap paper. She wasn't even using bronze or oil on canvas. Where did that work take place? And did the government even know that these kind of works were being staged at the time? What was the sort of general reaction from the authorities? Well, I think one had to be under the radar because you didn't want the authorities to. After an over a decade of this very, very repressive kind of government, this work was a kind of gift to people
