Home assistant is a tool that lets you combine devices and put them together. It's whatever you want it to be, i think that's one of the powerful things of home system. To unlock a door through the car plague, you have to use a carrer, a garrage device. Andi was one that had to be plugged into an extension rather than could be plugged in directly. So he created a calser a script which actually waits a minute and then unlocks the door.
