How to Build a Bond Portfolio in a Recession?

Short term rates are high, but probably won't stay that way forever. What is the most sensible way to construct a bond portfolio in this environment? I think you want to have some balance between shorter duration bonds and longer duration bonds. For the first time in 15 years, we can do it with less risk. Enjoy it for sure.
