The High Classical Period

The High Classical Period takes place in the second half of the 5th century BC. It is known above all for the new buildings put up on the Acropolis of Athens. The most dominant sculptors were polyclitis and fittias. One of the most dramatic changes was the treatment of drapery as something that revealed, rather than concealed, the body beneath.
