Plato's Vews on Everything Ane

Plato believed that there are three basic faculties to the human psyche: reason, material appetites and a self regarding spirit element. He thought that both udimonea and virtue arise when these three parts work in harmony with each other's When they are in tune and each part is performing its own particular function. But he does argue very strongly that usually eudimoni and virtue can only arise in the right political and educational setting - which is why he has his blue print for an ideal state ruled by philosophers.
