In 2010, the Koch brothers poured $50 million into a state-of-the-art political data operation that was then networked with their cell phone apps. They do venture into areas of questionable legalities, such as accessing medical and mental health records in order to improve their voter profiles. But most of what they do is not illegal. Most of it is really smart.
