The First World War Was Not About Capital

I think there's no question that the First World War had something to do with empire. But clearly Germany was lagging and wanted to assert its destiny. And indeed, if you look at empire, British Empire was a massive negative impact on the British economy. One of the reasons the empire fell apart is because Britain couldn't afford to hold it together anymore.
