Is There Something Inherently Morally Wrong About Being Wasteful?
I think we need to clarify the difference between abundant and completely infinite. Things are infinite, but as a part-time economist, I'd say we don't have to particularly think in terms of limits. As the Saudi Arabian oil minister famously said, the stone age didn't end because we ran out of stones. So, designing in efficiency and effectiveness is really important, even with abundance. And then I think we'd have to be very careful about the nexus between energy production and water - that's going to be something which we have to manage through in next few decades.
