Pregnant women over the age of 35 are sometimes to as gereatric mothers. An often quoted statistic suggests one in three women aged 35 to 39 will fail to get pregnant within a year of trying, but this is based on data from two thousand and four years ago. A new study by the journal of the american medical association recently broke down the myth of a fertility cliff at 35. It found that fertility among american women had increased to 37 point one years on average. Researchers came to this conclusion by looking at trents in reproductive life spans. They also discovered that women are generally reaching menapors at a greater age too.
