The Importance of Positionality in Social Work Education
In a good supportive supervision space you could kind of be talking about let's just explore this. It's the thing that's happening in the tertiary sector at the moment. And what I loved about starting that with the positionality statement is it quite clearly then positioned the practice within that frame as well, right? Like for me, there was no ambiguity about where the value stance of this social worker was throughout then the rest of the story. You know? And I really really enjoyed that and appreciated that.I so did I. But back in the day we were never taught that. Hold on, not even back in the days my friend. That does not happen in the clinical space.
