What Is the CID?
The CID is more than just a hash. It's basically a super address that is designed to be upgradable and configurable. With CIDs, you can configure the chunking algorithm. And there's a set of specifications that comprise these technologies. One is multi-base, one is multi-hash. The idea itself actually is that SHA 256 hash by default.
