The Importance of Servant Management

I think there are many misconceptions about how management works, including that management involves telling other people what to do. It's really about assembling the team and pointing them in the right direction rather than standing at the front and making everyone follow up. Command and control does not work when creativity is involved or interesting with the innovation; it just runs out of gas incredibly quickly. I've heard folks suggesting that sort of fewer opinions are important for early-stage startups. We don't want to be distracted but you know, there's a bunch of myopia that comes with that kind of perspective.
