The Mystics' Love Affair With Death
The mystics seem to have a kind of love affair with death, which is at the opposite extreme from the death wish. Phenomenology isn't a matter of logic and proof; it's a matter of inviting pictures. Everybody has some sort of desire for heaven and nobody understands what it means. We're creatures of time yet we get bored with anything that's extended long enough.
