The KKK - The Best Club in the World
3,319 Klansmen were ultimately brought in as a result of the government's war in the KKK. After Grant won re-election, he went on to pardon many of the arrested Klansmen under the justification that this was the only way to heal the divide between white people in the South. In 1877, the first Jim Crow laws were passed, bringing it into the brief period of time where southern blacks had a notable amount of political power. On our next episode, we're going to talk about the Phoenix-like resurrection of the KKK during the 1920s.
