One of the main claims is that the towers were brought down in a controlled demolition by explosives planted inside the buildings. So one proposed justification for this particular theory is that the fuel contained within the lanes would not have burned hot enough to melt the structural steel beams in the towers and cause a collapse. Scientifically speaking, kerosene does burn hotter than the melting point of structural steel, about 500 degrees celsius hotter.
