Cletus's Smoky Stench
All were still and quiet as no house full of children, particularly children related by blood, has ever been. There was a smoky stench in the air that Cletus did not believe come from any single match stick. Littly ruth's voice sounded raw and scratchy, as if her throat was filled with gravel. When she smiled, cletas could see there was something wrong with her mouth. Her once lovely smile now a gaping, bloody maw. And when she turned her head towards him, it tipped sideways on her neck at an angle that could not be right. He took a deep, shuddering breath and took another step back.
