Science Fiction - The Only Place That We Have Experienced World War Free
Science fiction is really the only place that we have experienced world war free. We spend a lot of time imagining it, sualizing it in the realm of science fiction. In fact, there were precursors a to this imagination. If you go back to the work of h g Wells, who was an incredible visionary. And if you look at his body of work, he saw the twentieth century coming. He saw the arguments over a needing a centralized world state or needing decentralized forms of authority. The singular cause of destruction that was represented by nuclear weapons was going to join our world war three as the imagined horror of our future. But we were very fortunate that we never experienced that future
